2-days Training on Mushroom Cultivation Technique for Marginalized Farmers Conducted in Kaule and Ghurkesh

SVSI successfully concluded two sessions of Mushroom CultivationTraining for marginalized farmers in Kaule (on 24th and 25th of Sep) and Ghurkesh (26th and 27th of Sep) Rain communities of Ichhakamana-2. A total of 46 farmers directly benefited from the training, with 24 participants from Kaule and 22 from Ghurkesh.

The training focused on mushroom cultivation, an accessibleand sustainable livelihood option for low-resourced farmers. Mushrooms provide a low-cost, high-nutrient food source that can significantly improve local diets and contribute to better overall health. Moreover, mushroom farming requires minimal space and resources, making it an ideal option for small-scale farmers seeking to diversify their agricultural practices as well as to maximize their profit. By integrating mushroom cultivation into their farming, these communities are assured to increase food security and enhance their income potential. The training sessions emphasized hands-on learning, with participants preparing their own mushroom-growing kits using rice straw and mushroom seeds.
