• Green Initiative

The Green Initiative is a long term mission of SVSI that is focused on planting trees to protect the environment and support sustainable development. Through this large-scale tree-planting activities, the program focus on the restoration of damaged land, stop soil erosion, and increase wildlife and plant diversity. Every year, this program works together with local governments, the Division Forest Office in Chitwan, and community members, especially in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality, Kalika Municipality, and Ratnanagar Municipality. To help farmers and improve livelihoods, the initiative distributes different types of seedlings, including fodder, fruit trees, broom grass, and coffee plants. These support agroforestry and give people more ways to earn money. The program also includes educational sessions about climate change, how to take care of trees, and why forests are important for keeping nature in balance.
