SVSI provided immediate and emergency relief materials like rice, salt, dry food etc for the 2015 earthquake victims all around Nepal.
The devastating earthquake of 25 April 2015 brought so much destruction in the lives of people and in cultural heritage. More than 8000 people died and hundreds of thousands of people were left homeless across many districts of the country. The badly effected areas by the massive hit are Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Sindhupalchock, Gorkha, Dhading, Nuwakot and Rasuwa. The deadly earthquake also destroyed our World Heritage sites like Dharahara, Basantapur Durbar Square and Patan palace.
To bring smiles and hope back into the people’s lives, SVSI (Sapana Village Social Impact) cooperated with various internal and external organizations like FEMI Foundation, Open-Eyes, Sonmar Namaste and many more to reach out and bring relief to the victims. We were able to provide immediate and emergency relief materials like rice, salt, lentil, dry food, cooking oil and tarpaulins to the earthquake victims all around Nepal. We also provided zinc sheets to 20 families who had lost their houses during earthquake. SVSI is also working on the maintenance of school buildings badly destroyed by hits in Siddi and Shaktikhor V.D.C. of Chitwan district.
