Rapti Municipality, Chitwan — Sapana Village continues to strengthen its commitment to environmental protection, climate action, and healthier communities through the expansion of its smokeless EcoStove distribution initiative.
For the past two years, Sapana Village has been supporting communities with improved smokeless EcoStoves designed to promote cleaner cooking, reduce firewood consumption, lower smoke exposure in households, and help reduce carbon emissions.
As part of the latest expansion of the initiative, Sapana Village has extended its support to Rapti Municipality, providing 405 EcoStoves to the municipality and an additional 102 EcoStoves directly to community members.
This means a total of 507 EcoStoves have been provided through this phase of the initiative in Rapti Municipality.
Traditional cooking methods that rely heavily on firewood can contribute to indoor air pollution and place additional pressure on surrounding forests. By introducing more efficient cooking solutions, Sapana Village aims to support healthier households while encouraging the responsible use of natural resources.
The EcoStove initiative reflects Sapana Village’s broader approach to sustainability: creating practical solutions that benefit both people and the environment. Each stove distributed can help families use firewood more efficiently while contributing to forest conservation and cleaner household environments.
