Sapana Village Social Impact (SVSI), in collaboration with the local government, has successfully completed a three-month tailoring training programme under its Comprehensive Community Development Project, supporting local women with practical skills and opportunities for sustainable income generation.
The programme was designed to equip participants with practical tailoring skills that can be applied to establish small home-based businesses and create new sources of income. By developing vocational skills, the initiative aims to strengthen economic independence and improve livelihood opportunities for participating families.
The training concluded with a closing ceremony attended by the Chairperson of SVSI, the Mayor of Kalika Municipality, two Ward Chairpersons, participating trainees, community members, and local stakeholders.
As part of SVSI’s continued commitment to supporting participants beyond training, sewing machines were distributed to all participating trainees during the ceremony. The machines will enable participants to put their newly acquired skills into practice, take on tailoring work, and potentially establish home-based enterprises.
In addition to the tailoring programme, water storage tanks were distributed to families identified as being in need, helping address their household water-storage requirements and contributing to improved living conditions.
The programme demonstrated the value of collaboration between SVSI, local government, and community members in developing practical and locally driven solutions. By combining vocational training with essential resources and community support, SVSI continues to work toward livelihood development, women’s economic empowerment, and stronger, more resilient communities.
