SVSI Conducts Homestay Business Orientation for Ghurkesh Rain Community

Chitwan, Nepal — Sapana Village Social Impact (SVSI) organized a one-day Homestay Business Orientation and Hospitality Training for the homestay owners of Ghurkesh Rain Community, with 22 participants attending the program. The session was delivered by Mr. Dhruba Giri, Founder of SVSI and the owner of Sapana Village Lodge, one of the most prominent and culturally renowned tourist lodges in Sauraha, Chitwan. During the training, Mr. Giri shared valuable insights drawn from his extensive experience in the tourism and hospitality sector. The session covered essential elements of operating a successful homestay, including guest experience, cleanliness and hygiene, local cultural presentation, sustainable hospitality practices, and ways to attract domestic and international visitors.

Mr. Giri emphasized that well-managed homestays play a vital role in promoting rural tourism and enhancing local livelihoods. He highlighted that the Ghurkesh community has strong potential to become a unique rural tourism destination due to its natural beauty, cultural richness, and warm hospitality. Impressed by the enthusiasm and eagerness of the homestay owners, Mr. Giri assured participants that he would continue supporting them in the future. “If needed, I am ready to help and provide additional training to strengthen your homestay services,” he said, encouraging the community to move forward confidently.

Participants expressed their appreciation for the practical knowledge and motivation shared during the session. Many noted that the orientation broadened their understanding of how to improve guest satisfaction and promote their homestays more effectively. SVSI plans to continue providing capacity-building activities and guidance to strengthen community-based tourism initiatives across the Rain Communities.
