Ichchhakamana, Chitwan: Sapana Village Social Impact (SVSI), in collaboration with Kanchan Nepal, LiBird, and IRHA, successfully conducted a one-day workshop on Seed Bank Management and Policy Advocacy, focusing on communities in Wards No. 1 and 2 of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality.
The workshop brought together local stakeholders, farmers, and seed bank experts to discuss the importance of conserving and promoting local and traditional seeds, strengthening seed bank management practices, and supporting biodiversity conservation.
Participants shared insights and experiences on sustainable seed preservation, community-based seed bank management, and the role of policy advocacy in protecting local seed varieties and strengthening farmers’ livelihoods.
The workshop also highlighted opportunities to enhance community participation, improve access to traditional seeds, and promote sustainable agricultural practices that contribute to long-term food security and resilient rural communities.
Through this collaborative initiative, SVSI and its partners reaffirmed their commitment to empowering local communities, preserving agricultural biodiversity, and supporting sustainable livelihood development in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment to protecting Nepal’s traditional seed heritage while building stronger, more self-reliant farming communities.
