SVSI Has Concluded "Plantation Week" of 2025

Sapana Village Social Impact recently held its annual "Plantation Week" from June 30 to July 6, aimed at promoting environmental conservation and sustainable development through large-scale tree-planting efforts. This also helps to restore degraded land, prevent soil erosion, and enhance biodiversity. This year’s campaign was conducted across Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality (Wards 1 and 2), Kalika Municipality (Wards 10 and 11), and Ratnanagar Municipality (Ward-8), in collaboration with local governments, the Division Forest Office Chitwan, and community members.

A total of 40,600 fodder seedlings, including Tanki, Epil, Bakaino, Chiuri, Badar, Chaap, Bottlebrush, and Dhupi, were planted, alongside 6,031 fruit seedlings such as orange (3,850), lemon (1,700), lime (60), guava (100), lapsi (300), mango (15), and lychee (6). Additionally, 15,000 Amriso (broom grass) seedlings and 600 coffee saplings were distributed to support agroforestry and livelihood diversification. The week also includes awareness sessions on climate change, proper tree care, and the importance of forests for ecological balance. In Ratnanagar (located near Chitwan National Park), the program prioritizes mitigating environmental degradation caused by urbanization. Meanwhile, in hilly regions like Kalika and Ichchhakamana, the focus shifts to landslide prevention and sustainable land management. Across all locations, the initiative places economic empowerment at its core, ensuring environmental conservation directly supports local livelihoods. The initiative not only strengthens community participation but also aligns with Sapana Village Social Impact goals for greener development.
