A New Beginning: Ram Kumari Chaudhary’s Journey to a Safe Home
The challenges didn’t end there. The unsafe structure exposed them to serious risks—snakes, insects, and even wild animals could easily enter their home. Living in such conditions left Ram Kumari feeling anxious, helpless, and worried for her children’s safety.
Despite these hardships, she held onto a simple dream: to provide her family with a safe, secure, and permanent home.
That dream became a reality through the Dream Homes Project, supported by SVSI, Riksja Travel, Wilde Ganzen, and the Local Government. Today, Ram Kumari and her family live in a strong, concrete house that protects them from rain and external dangers.
Her new home has brought more than just physical safety—it has restored her dignity and sense of belonging in the community.
“Now, I no longer have to worry about rainwater entering the house or the danger of snakes and insects. My children sleep peacefully at night, and I feel proud to welcome my neighbors. I live with dignity and no longer feel left behind in the community,” says Ram Kumari with heartfelt gratitude.
Ram Kumari’s story is a powerful reminder of how safe housing can transform lives—bringing security, confidence, and hope for a better future.
