Better Life due to clean water in Parang Village
In the past, we would walk long distances daily to fetch water. It was a chore we undertook as a family, along with us, women, children, and the older generation. It would take us hours to walk with the containers, leaving us exhausted. Because of this, we had little time for our children, let alone undertaking our chores and maintaining our personal hygiene. Many times, we fell sick, but we had no other option.
However, everything changed when Sapana Village Social Impact came to our village with a Drinking Water Support Program. It is through this program that our village, along with 8 other Chepang families, was able to get access to clean drinking water close to our homes.
Now, our lives have changed. We don’t wake up thinking about where we are going to find water. I have more time to take care of my family and clean our home. My children are healthier and can focus in their studies. Even our senior citizens feel relieved since they don’t have to carry water containers anymore.
For us, having clean drinking water means more than just having a facility. It is an aspect of dignity, health, and hope. Access to water from this source has given our community strength along with a brighter future. In behalf of my family and our village, I am greatly indebted to Sapana Village Social Impact.
