Sapana Village Social Impact has successfully completed a “Mineral Block Preparation Training” for 90 livestock farmers under the Comprehensive Community Development Project (CCDP), implemented across Ichchhakamana and Kalika municipalities.
The practical training focused on equipping farmers with hands-on skills to produce nutrient-rich mineral licking blocks at the household level using affordable and locally available materials such as red soil and eggshells. The approach promotes low-cost, practical solutions that farmers can independently sustain without reliance on external inputs.
The initiative is designed to improve livestock management practices by reducing dependency on expensive commercial feed supplements while enhancing overall animal nutrition. These mineral blocks are expected to support better livestock health, strengthen immunity, and contribute to improved milk production and productivity.
Project facilitators highlighted that small-scale, locally driven innovations such as mineral block preparation are essential for strengthening rural resilience. Such practices not only reduce input costs for farmers but also contribute to more climate-resilient and economically sustainable livelihoods in rural communities.
Through the CCDP programme, Sapana Village Social Impact continues to support practical skill development initiatives that directly improve household income, food security, and sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
