Eco Stove Distribution Supports Cleaner Cooking and Reduced Fuel Use in Kalika

Sapana Village Social Impact has distributed 279 eco stoves to households in Ward No. 6 of Kalika Municipality as part of its ongoing environmental and community health initiative.

Over the past two years, eco stove distribution has been carried out across multiple communities to reduce dependency on traditional firewood cooking methods, lower indoor air pollution, and improve household energy efficiency. The continued distribution reflects both growing community demand and the demonstrated positive impact of the technology.

The eco stoves are designed to improve combustion efficiency, significantly reducing fuel consumption while also minimizing smoke emissions inside homes. This contributes directly to better respiratory health for family members, particularly women and children who are most exposed to indoor cooking smoke.

Beyond health benefits, the initiative also supports environmental conservation by reducing pressure on local forest resources through lower firewood use. Families adopting the stoves are able to save time and resources while shifting toward more sustainable cooking practices.

Sapana Village Social Impact acknowledged the support of Riksja Travel for contributing to this programme. Their support has helped expand access to eco stoves in rural communities, strengthening efforts to reduce smoke pollution and promote healthier living conditions.

Through continued collaboration and practical interventions like eco stove distribution, the programme aims to support long-term environmental protection alongside improved quality of life for rural households.
