Sapana Village Launches Tailoring Training Program to Empower Women in Siddi Wards 11 and 12

Chitwan, Nepal — Sapana Village Social Impact (SVSI) has officially launched a tailoring (cutting and sewing) training program for women from Siddi Wards 11 and 12, following an interaction program held a few months ago to better understand local needs and priorities.

During the earlier consultation, women participants clearly expressed their strong interest in acquiring practical vocational skills—particularly in tailoring—as a pathway toward income generation and self-reliance. Responding to this grassroots demand, Sapana Village has initiated the training program as part of its continued commitment to women’s empowerment and sustainable community development.

The program aims to equip women with hands-on skills in cutting, sewing, and basic garment production, enabling them to explore employment opportunities, start small home-based enterprises, or contribute to local markets. Beyond technical skills, the initiative also builds confidence and encourages economic independence.

The Sapana Village team is closely supervising the training on a regular basis to ensure quality instruction, consistent attendance, and meaningful outcomes. Continuous monitoring and mentorship are being emphasized so that participants not only complete the training but are also able to translate their skills into real livelihood opportunities.

“This program reflects our belief that sustainable change begins by listening to the community,” said a representative from Sapana Village Social Impact. “When women gain skills and income opportunities, the benefits extend to their families and the wider community.”

Through initiatives like this tailoring training, Sapana Village continues to strengthen its role as a locally rooted, socially responsible organization dedicated to inclusive growth, women’s empowerment, and long-term impact in the Chitwan region.
