SVSI and Bharatpur Eye Hospital Launch Free Cataract Surgery Camp in Siddhi and Shaktikhor

Sapana Village Social Impact (SVSI), in technical collaboration with Bharatpur Eye Hospital, has launched a three-day Cataract Surgery Camp in Siddhi and Shaktikhor starting from 20th Baisakh. The initiative is designed to improve access to essential eye care services for communities where medical facilities remain limited.

The camp is offering free eye screening services to local residents, along with necessary medicines and eyeglasses for those identified in need. This early-stage intervention allows many individuals to receive timely diagnosis and basic treatment support within their own communities.

Patients diagnosed with cataract conditions during the screenings are being prepared for surgical procedures. The surgeries will be carried out on the final day of the camp in Siddhi by specialized medical professionals from Bharatpur Eye Hospital. This approach eliminates the need for patients to travel long distances to Bharatpur, reducing both cost and logistical barriers to treatment.

SVSI and Bharatpur Eye Hospital expect the camp to benefit a large number of residents, significantly improving vision health outcomes in the region. The initiative is also expected to enhance quality of life, particularly for elderly individuals who are most affected by cataract-related vision loss.

This program reflects SVSI’s continued focus on practical, community-based health interventions that address critical gaps in rural healthcare delivery through targeted collaboration and on-the-ground action.
