SVSI and Rotary Club of Chitwan Distribute 40 Biomass Stoves in Devghat–5 to Promote Clean Energy and Community Health

Sapana Village Social Impact (SVSI), in mutual collaboration with the Rotary Club of Chitwan, has successfully completed the distribution of 40 biomass stoves in Devghat Rural Municipality–5, Gauritar, Tanahun District.

This initiative forms part of SVSI’s ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable energy solutions while improving community health and living conditions. The newly distributed biomass stoves provide a cleaner and safer alternative to traditional cooking methods, helping to significantly reduce indoor air pollution—one of the leading causes of respiratory and eye-related health problems in rural households.

The improved stoves are designed to use fuel more efficiently, which lowers firewood consumption and reduces pressure on local forests. By adopting these energy-efficient technologies, households can save time and resources while also contributing to environmental conservation.

Local beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the support, noting that the stoves will make daily cooking easier, faster, and healthier for their families. Community members and local representatives also acknowledged the importance of partnerships like this in bringing practical and sustainable solutions to underserved areas.

“Access to clean and efficient cooking technology directly impacts health, environment, and quality of life,” said a representative from Sapana Village Social Impact. “Through collaborations such as this with the Rotary Club of Chitwan, we aim to create long-term, positive change in rural communities.”

The biomass stove distribution program reflects SVSI’s broader mission to integrate environmental responsibility with community development, ensuring that progress is both inclusive and sustainable.
